Black & Dangerous
DMV
Washington, D.C.
Maryland
Photographer, Videographer, Reporter
I conceptualized "Black & Dangerous" for my capstone project for my Master's in New Media Photojournalism at The George Washington University. Collaborating with Black men and women in the Washington, D.C. and surrounding areas to report on the shared and individual experiences of being Black & Dangerous to help them reclaim the narrative for themselves on who they are. This was accomplished through journal prompts, photography and video sessions.

“Black & Dangerous” is a collaborative project utilizing poetry, portraiture, and reportage to redefine the way Black people are perceived because of stereotypes. Through various visual and audible mediums, Black folk share their individual experiences, beliefs, and feelings of what it means to be Black & Dangerous, both to society and as redefined to themselves.
